Comprehensive COVID-19 Training Available for Mold Professionals
Detailed Guidelines take the Guesswork out of Proper Procedures
Mold contractors have a number of resources available addressing the specific requirements involved with COVID-19 decontamination cleaning. Along with online training classes, industry professionals also have the opportunity to download documents on managing emergency service operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The National Association of Environmentally Responsible Mold Contractors (NAERMC), is one industry organization offering coronavirus decontamination and sanitation training through a live online webinar. During the 2-3 hour class, attendees will learn best practices on the following topics:
Part I: Biocides. Which ones work to kill coronavirus and which ones leave a toxic chemical residue (not green, chemical-free).
Part II: Green, chemical-free sanitizers that do not leave a toxic residue and are EPA/CDC approved to be 100% effective against coronavirus.
Part III: Crew safety. Outer wear. Respiratory protection. What works and what does not work.
Part IV: Post-remediation testing. How do you prove that the premises are safe for re-entry? How do you prove that the coronavirus is completely dead?
Part V: A discussion of insurance coverage issues.
The cost of the course is $100 with a list of training dates on the website. In addition to the COVID-19 training program, an optional COVID-19 certification by NAERMC is also available for an additional $150.
NAERMC is a state of Florida approved mold assessor/remediator exam and training provider.
COVID-19 certification requirements include:
Taking the 2.5-3 hour live webinar training
Passing the 50 question online exam /*
In Florida: State issued mold remediator license or pesticide applicator license; or CIH
